Nothing beats “dinning with a view” and that’s what Top of Cebu Restaurant has to offer besides their sumptuous dishes and refreshing drinks.
Top of Cebu is located in one of the most scenic part of Cebu City in Barangay Busay. The mountain-top restaurant gives diners a panoramic view of Cebu City and nearby Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu cities. The view from Top of Cebu is absolutely stunning, from the vibrant cityscape during day time, magnificent sunset during dusk, to the beautiful nightscape view that will surely take your breath away.
When it comes to food, Top of Cebu’s menu offers our favorite Filipino dishes with some modern touches and some international cuisines. I was recently invited by Top of Cebu management to dine at their restaurant. During my visit, we tried some of their best sellers.
Salted-Egg Calamares
Crispy-fried beaded squid rings, dusted in seasoned salted-egg powder, served on a bed of crispy flour tortillas and sided with mango salsa and aoli dip. Salted-egg is huge right now, many restaurants offer salted-egg base dishes and I just love it! Salted-egg can be over powering, but Top of Cebu’s Salted-Egg Calamares is seasoned just right. It also goes well with the mango salsa and aoli dip, but I prefer the latter. Extra rice please!
Mango-Kani Salad
Mixed greens, locally sourced sweet mangoes and shredded crabsticks, dressed in Japanese mayonnaise. I’m not really a fan of salads but I will try it if it looks really appetizing like Top of Cebu’s Mango-Kani Salad. The fresh and crunchy greens mixed with shredded crabsticks and sweet mangoes just all goes well together. The Japanese mayonnaise also adds a little creaminess to this salad. It’s like a fiesta in my mouth.
Grilled Shrimp and Citrus Salad
Crispy lettuce, white onions and mandarin oranges topped with grilled shrimp and served with a sweet and bright honey-lemon dressing. I really love the dressing of this salad because it’s sweet and citrusy at the same time. It really goes well with the greens and shrimp.
Sizzling Bangus
Locally-farmed bangus service with spicy coconut cream sauce in a sizzling platter. I just love the coconut cream sauce. It adds an exotic and delicate flavor to this dish.
They also introduced two of their newest offerings, USDA Beef Short Plate and Kakanin Platter.
USDA Beef Short Plate
Top of Cebu recently introduced their carving station. Enjoy this tender beef served with gravy on the side for Php180 per 100 grams.
Kakanin Platter
Cebu is known for an array of delicacies all over the province. Now you don’t have to drive far away to get a taste of these. Top of Cebu now offers a Kakanin Platter, a mix kakanin that can be found in various municipalities of Cebu. For Php490, you’ll get sweet mangoes, bibingka, sapin-sapin, puto, kutsinta, otap, moron, rosquillos, and torta in a Cebu shaped wooden platter, and served with sikwate. This is like Top of Cebu’s version of an afternoon high tea. This is perfect “mirienda” after an adventure-filled tour around the highlands of Cebu.
There are now lots of places to visit around the highlands of Cebu. Make sure you drop by at Top of Cebu for a sumptuous meal with your loved ones, friends or colleagues while enjoying the stunning view of the city.
