My favorite meal of the day is breakfast that’s why I was very excited when I got an invitation for the launching of Maple in Cebu. Maple is an all-day breakfast restaurant by the Pancake House Group which cater to class A & B customers. After the success of their branches in Alabang, Muntinlupa and Makati, Maple has opened their first provincial branch located at The Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.
The restaurant features an interesting Maple theme with maple syrup bottles displayed on the walls and a Maple tree silhouette welcoming customers as they enter the restaurant. It has a warm and cozy vibes that is perfect for a special family breakfast, lunch or dinner.
I got a bit disappointed when I saw the menu card that they won’t be serving breakfast food during the launch but I got delighted when I saw The Maple Burger on the list.
The Maple Burger. Grilled juicy burger patty sandwiched between two soft sesame bun with fresh tomato, lettuce, pickles, melted American Cheese and crispy bacon glazed with maple syrup and served with fried onion rings and french fries. You can really taste the maple syrup on the crispy bacon which perfectly complements the savory grilled burger patty. I also don’t like pickles and I love how it was served separately. Tip, try stuffing the french fries and onion rings in your burger, an explosion of flavors and crunchiness in every bite awaits.
The Salmon Catch. Lightly seasoned fresh salmon fillet either grilled, pan-seared or blackened to your liking and served with Texas summer vegetables and orzo pasta. I’m not a seafood person but I love salmon especially when it’s cooked perfectly and without the fishy taste. I thought it was served with rice but when I read the description on the menu card it’s orzo pasta, a type of pasta shaped into a grain of rice.
Blackened Chicken. Chicken breast with a spicy Cajun rub, grilled and served with creamed spinach on top of dirty rice. I find the dirty rice interesting, it’s actually a white rice cooked with chicken liver, onions, green and red bell pepper and other spices which gives it a “dirty” color. The grilled chicken is a bit dry and lacked the Cajun flavor, good thing the creamed spinach came to the rescue as it gave the dish a wonderful texture and flavor.
Visit Maple at the G/F of The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu. They are open from 7AM-11PM daily. I hope to go back soon to try their breakfast food and their best selling Prime Rib Tapa.
